About Us

NYRN was founded in 2019 by registered nurses inspired by their disaster relief work in Florida, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands following Hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria. Since 2019, more than 700 nurses and other healthcare professionals have participated on medical missions with NYRN.

New York Relief Network (NYRN) partners registered nurses, nurse practitioners, doctors, and other healthcare professionals to deliver critical, timely, and compassionate care to marginalized and under served communities around the world.

NYRN also partners with local public health organizations, nursing schools, and nursing organizations to exchange knowledge and skills to empower the nursing profession and improve public health. Volunteers also experience and learn about local healthcare systems and cultures.

With a network of volunteers, NYRN provides medical and nursing care to communities in 12 countries annually and to over 22,000 patients since its  beginning. Through tireless efforts and unwavering commitment to service, NYRN volunteers empower those in need by fostering a spirit of unity, resilience, and compassion.

Each mission provides the opportunity to earn CEUs.

CEUs are provided and verified by NYSNA (New York State Nurses Association)
